ChatGPT is now officially always listening to you. ChatGPT is now officially always listening to you. OpenAI launches improved ChatGPT memory to reference your past chats. Today OpenAI announced a launch that effectively means that ChatGPT can now reference all of your past chats when chatting. I'm gonna tell you what that means and how to turn it on or off depending on how creeped out you are by this. This is an existing memory feature which previously stored little nuggets about you that you chatted with it. You could manage it individually or command it to remember certain things. That does still exist. But this one again gives ChatGPT permission to listen to all of your past chats and use them in future chats. Which can be very helpful if you wanted to have a lot of context about you, but can be a little creepy if it's storing a lot of extra information that you don't really wanna be reminded of later. But if you wanna turn off your chat history, referencing every past chat you've ever had, you can tap this. That'll toggle it off. So it will not do that anymore. Additionally, say you like that it's sending all the chats, but you don't want it to listen to this particular chat. You can start a temporary chat by tapping this little button up here. That's gonna let you basically have like an incognito window in chat, TBT. It's a temporary thing. It'll go away after you're done.
