If you're writing metric this year, stop using ChatGPT like Google, but rather start utilising it like a private tutor. What most students do is they directly ask what is calculus? What is probability? How do I solve this question? And you get a direct answer. But that's not learning, that's not utilising the technology. If I had access to ChatGPT during my matric here, this is how I'd utilise it. The first prompt is, explain this topic like I'm in grade 12, using simple examples and exam style language. For example, Pythagoras. This is way better than just asking for a definition because it explains you at your level. The second prompt is, create a past paper style question on this topic, similar to a South African matric exam. You're not only reading notes, but you actually practice it. Here's my third prompt. Here's my answer. Mark it using a memo style rubric and tell me where I lost marks. I find it very powerful because ChatGPT can will actually look at your answer and tell you why you're not getting those full marks.
