TikTok has changed!

TikTok has changed! As we approach the end of May 2026, and they have introduced a new feature that helps combat the change. Because a lot of people with a new algorithm and the way things are, we're struggling to get views every time we post it. I'm going to explain this in a little bit of detail. Because I'm a sad little nerd who posts too much about TikToks. So, how the algo has changed. The way that the algorithm has changed is that they were making it a lot harder for when content creators posted videos on a specific topic for that specific video to be put in front of an audience. You have engaged with that specific topic before. Basically, TikTok would change the algorithm, so they were changing whose FYPs you were landing on. And this was massive, because if you're landing in front of irrelevant people rather than relevant people, then why the hell would they sit down and watch it? Why the hell would you get a good watch time on that video? Hence why loads of people's views dropped over the last, let's call it two months. TikTok were making this quite hard to counteract. And I think that's why they've introduced this new feature. TikTok's new feature. The feature that they have added is the ability to add search keywords to your post after you have posted it. So to access this, you just click on the three dots in the bottom right and you scroll all the way to the right. The option that says add keywords. What you are doing here is you are giving TikTok a guideline as to who's FYP to put you on and to who should be seeing your content when they search specific things, which is obviously so powerful. What keywords should you add? What you should be thinking is what would make sense for my target audience to search and this video doing that alone should give you some good keywords. But one step further, you can create a search site which will actually tell you what people are searching for. So if you find a couple of things that are closely related to your video, you can add those keywords to that video. One step further, you can use a tool like Vyralyze where you explain what you make content about and it will give you all the things people are searching for on top of being able to analyze your whole niche and seeing what's doing well on your own account.
