If you're looking to get into remote life insurance sales, I'm going to tell you step by step how to get started. Step 1: RESEARCH different companies & do lots of interviews! Vet who you're trusting to get into business With! What does training look like? What does mentorship look like? What is the long term vision here? What challenges can I expect? I would recommend being an independent broker so you're not capped and limited to just one company's products. Or you're looking for something that's commission based sales, do you want a salary? In my opinion, commission based sales is where it's at. There's no ceiling there. You're willing to invest into high intent leads and take a lower commission. You're willing to invest into high intent leads and have the ability to grow and scale. I would recommend that. Captive agent vs broker: low comp (free leads) limited growth, high comp / u pay for leads / unlimited growth. So once you do the research and figure out which company you're wanting to join, then you need to get licensed. The reason why I say find the IMO first is because a lot of companies will help cover some fees for you to get licensed. You need to take the Excel study course in your resident state. I recommend life, health, and accidental BUT you can just do life. Study for 10-12 days MAX & go test. Book your exam testing date. After passing apply for your resident state license on NIPR.com. Once you have your NPN # you're ready to start with a company!! Now that your license is active, you can go back to that IMO and then get plugged in and get onboarded. It's so much simpler than you think and if you don't pass your exam the first time, that's okay. That was me. Keep studying, keep taking it. You got this.
