If Claude code keeps hitting your usage limits, these three tricks will fix it. First, switch models mid-session. Type /model in Claude code to switch models instantly. Default to Sonnet for everyday coding. It's faster, uses fewer tokens, and handles most tasks just as well. Only use Opus when you're dealing with a genuinely hard problem. Don't waste Opus on routine work. Second, type /compact in Claude code. It condenses the entire conversation into a concise summary. Third, add Ultrathink at the end of your prompt.
