Our governor stood next to Trump and called it a big day for Utah. It was a big day for mining companies. Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante just lost their protection. They are still public land, and they stay public land. What changed is that mining companies can now move in. Bears Ears was the first monument five tribal nations fought for and won together, and they stripped its protection with no tribal consultation at all. If they can do this here, no protected land is safe. Every place you love is only protected until an administration decides the minerals underneath are worth more. This fight is not just Utah’s. Yours is next. Don’t live in Utah? Share a story, a photo, or a video from a place you love to stand with Bears Ears. #tiktokgrowthchallenge
