4 Common Mistakes People Aren't Correcting You About.

Here common mistakes that many people will be too polite to correct you about but will secretly judge you for. I'm not here to say that that's right, unfortunately, society of the world and culture to determine how should treat you. So welcome back to Young Gentleman University, the series where I go over some things that I think every gentleman should know. The first and probably one of the most common mistakes that I see is the incorrect use of fiancé. Fiancé is a French word, which means that it is gendered. So when referring to a male fiancé, you have one E, but when who's a fiancée, you add two E's. The next is understanding the difference between jealousy and envy. And it's usually when people are using the word jealous when they really mean envious. Envy is when you want something that somebody else has. And jealousy is the fear of losing something that you have. For example, when I see someone playing tennis and they have a better backhand than I do, I'm envious of that person because I want what they have. This next one is common when you start Christmas cards come. When you are a family that has one last name, take my last name for example, when you refer to yourself as the "The Maddoxes" Maddoxes with no apostrophe S. You only use the apostrophe when you're referring to possession. So for example, you would say, the Maddoxes house on the Hamptons. I don't have one of those. Nice. You'd add the S and then the apostrophe after last name. This next one is most had the World Cup, but it's the difference between Spanish, Latin, and Hispanic. Someone who is from Spain is Spanish. Someone who is Latin is someone that has ethnic origins that are south of the (Latin America) United States. Someone who is Hispanic is someone that is from a place that speaks Spanish. So someone from Spain is both Spanish and Hispanic, but they are not Latino. Someone from Brazil is Latino, but not Spanish or Hispanic. For the record, I don't think that you should judge anybody for the knowledge that they have, but I still think it's important to know these things, so I hope that this was helpful.
