“What’s it like dating a Scotsman??” I’m not sure as Tommy is the only Scot I really know 🥹 but I can definitely say that communication (especially in a long distance relationship) is EVERYTHING and I’m grateful for the ability to fully be myself and grow in an area I’ve struggled with my whole entire life. #PeoplePleasing and being afraid to set boundaries and be rejected has GOT to end. 💪 To all my new #scottish friends… is this a cultural difference?? Those of you who have dated Americans… do you find our style of communication to be indirect?? I know I’ve got my own baggage that I’m working through, but I’m genuinely curious if some of these differences can be explained through societal norms and expectations 🤷🏻‍♀️ Either way, I’m so thankful to finally feel safe enough to be fully myself without fear of being unloved, judged or rejected. 🫶 #deconstruction
