I wish I’d done this the first time 🥹 1. Do NOTHING for the first 2 weeks after birth!! Apart from working on my laptop and obviously cooking and looking after my toddler, I didn’t leave the house for 2 weeks and just rested and recovered as much as possible. I’m 19 days post partum now and already feel so much better (haven’t even worn a pad for the last 4 days!) 2. Go to bed EARLY! I’ve been going to bed when my toddler does, breastfeeding my newborn and then getting a good 3 hours of sleep even before midnight! Of course the sleep is broken but those extra hours early doors are a game changer, I don’t even feel tired in the day! Yes you sacrifice time with your partner or a bit of Netflix but it’s temporary and worth it 3. Combi feeding - we combi fed my daughter but only did one bottle a day, my boy was BIG and just always hungry and I don’t want to be sat breastfeeding ALL DAY, so we’re doing way more of a 50/50 breastmilk and formula this time and it’s AMAZING 4. Meal prepping breakfast everyday, I make overnight oats every night full of fibre and it’s the best start to the day and sets you off on a positive note! (Instead of having one hand and just eating biscuits 🤣) 5. Getting out of the house! This week we’ve made a real effort to eat dinner at the park, go to family and friends houses and just generally get ready and leave the house. We have no routine with our newborn and it’s easy to not make the effort but it clears your head so much!! Definitely try some of these tips if you’re not already doing them✨✨✨
