Beneath Our Veins

Why it worked

The video leverages popular TikTok book-community (BookTok) tropes like 'enemies to lovers' and 'dark academia' to immediately hook readers interested in specific subgenres.

Summary

The creator uses a text-heavy video to describe the dark fantasy premise of her upcoming book, Beneath Our Veins. She highlights key tropes and themes to build anticipation for the release.

Structure

1Hook with high-concept premise
2List of book tropes and themes
3Announcement of release date
4Call to action for preorder

Product placement

Beneath Our Veins (book) — it ACTS as the subject of the promotional content, as the creator is marketing her own upcoming book release. Removing the book title would change the entire purpose of the video.
