Why it worked

The video leverages the 'come with me' vlog format and the exclusivity of location-specific merchandise to create a sense of urgency and personal discovery that feels authentic rather than like a traditional advertisement.

Summary

The creator visits a newly opened SKIMS store in San Diego to look for location-specific merchandise. She finds limited sizes but successfully purchases shorts, a co-branded Tangle Teezer, and socks.

Structure

1Creator announces mission to find SKIMS San Diego merch
2Arrival at the store and browsing the collection
3Identifying available sizes and selecting items
4Purchasing the selected SKIMS merchandise

Product placement

SKIMS: (a) ACTS — the creator visits the store, shows the specific San Diego collection, and purchases items from it. Removing the brand would change the entire premise of the video. Tangle Teezer: (a) ACTS — the creator shows the co-branded SKIMS Tangle Teezer, discusses wanting it, and decides to purchase it. Removing it would remove a specific product demonstration. Nike: (a) ACTS — the creator shows a pair of Nike socks with SKIMS branding, which she decides to purchase. Removing it would remove a specific product demonstration.

Transcript

We're in San Diego and I really wanted some of the SKIMS San Diego merch they came out with. They opened like two weeks ago so I'm kind of highly doubtful that they're going to have it, but still wanted to check and see. We're at the mall. Let's go see. They have it. It looks like they only have like small sizes though. They only have both of those in a small. They have these in a large. I think I'm going to get the shorts. They are really cute. They don't have my size in anything else but I do like these. I also really like these maroon ones. I've actually been wanting one of these SKIMS Tangle Teezers. I think I'm going to get this extra gentle one. And I need these socks. Got it. Did it end up having anything in my size? They only had extra small and extra extra small in like the shirts, but I ended up just getting the shorts. So, and I found some cute other things.

SO pretty, i’m obsessed with her 🍒🍒 #apple #iphone #iphone18promax #blackche
