I truly had a near flawless experience thanks to these!👇🏼 💫The day before the race: 1. Pickup a pizza and store it in your hotel fridge (seriously). All food locations are SO crowded after the race. Having the option the next day after your race to go shower, get off your feet, and relax away from the crowds is the best change of pace after a hectic morning. 2. Edit your watch settings (if you can) to avoid GPS issues in the city. If you have a Garmin Forerunner 965, set satellites to All + Multiband. Still not perfect, but paces should be way more accurate. 3. Download your running playlist. Large crowds means spotty service and your playlist can help calm pre race jitters. 4. Carb load starting 2-3 days in advanced!! I’m talking 8-12g of carbs per kg of body weight per day. ⛅️ Race morning: 5. Find hotel bathrooms and look for others besides the lobby - they will be much less crowded. Check basements levels, gyms, etc. 6. BYO toilet paper. 7. BYO trash bag to sit on once in the corral. Stay off your feet and stay dry. 8. Bring slides for your gear check bag. Your feet will thank you. 9. The finish line is uphill! Don’t forget. It’s just .2! 🛌 Post race: 10. Go to any brand activations the same day they open if you reallllly want the item. They will sell out - it’s a major and thousands of other people want the items too. #chicagomarathon #chicago #marathontraining #girlswhorun #raceday
