Here are the three signs work stress has gone too far. My name is Dr. Kiki Ramsey, your favorite positive psychologist and career coach, and we're stressed. But sometimes, at some point, work stress goes too far, and I need for you to know the signs, so I'm here to share them with you. Number one, you can't recover anymore. What I mean by that is the weekends are not enough, vacation is not enough. You take a day off and come back feeling just as exhausted as when you left. If rest isn't restoring you, maybe you need to pay attention because chronic burnout, workplace stress is characterized by ongoing exhaustion to normal breaks, and time off may not resolve it. When you can't take time off and feel better, then Houston, we have a problem. Number two, work stress is showing up in your body. I mean, you're not sleeping well, you're getting headaches, your stomach is bothering you. This was the one that got me. I came home and I was telling my husband, I think I have ulcers. He's like, you ain't got no ulcers. Ultimately, I ain't have ulcers, but baby, it felt like I had ulcers. My body was telling me, right? You are tense all the time. Sometimes we keep on saying, I'm just stressed, while our bodies are screaming that we need to change. Something has to change. And then lastly, your entire life has started revolving around surviving work, not thriving, but surviving. You spend Sundays dreading Mondays, you're spending the work week trying to make it to Friday, and you're spending your weekends trying to recover just to do it all over again. At some point, I want you to ask yourself, am I building a life that I love or am I just surviving in life and in this job? My thing for you is work stress has gone too far when it's not just affecting your workday anymore, it's affecting your entire life. If this resonates with you, share your story with me on the Career Rescue Hotline so I can help you figure out the next steps and share this with somebody who needs it. Okay now, love you.
