Why it worked

The video leverages strong brand nostalgia by connecting a beloved legacy hardware design to a modern digital in-game item, creating a tangible incentive for fans to pre-order.

Summary

The creator promotes the pre-order of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, highlighting exclusive in-game rewards like the Xbox-themed M4 blueprint and early campaign access. He walks viewers through the different editions and platform benefits to encourage them to purchase the game.

Product placement

(a) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 ACTS; the creator demonstrates its pre-order benefits, shows the interface for selecting editions/platforms, and displays exclusive in-game items (skins, blueprints) that result from the purchase. (b) Xbox appears as a brand logo on the console and the in-game blueprint; it is the platform for the game, but the video is selling the game itself. Removing the Xbox logo would not change the fact that the video is selling the game.

Call to action

Pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 today.
