When you’re a new barber, one of your biggest advantages is something experienced barbers usually don’t have: AVAILABILITY. If you’re only willing to cut from 9–5, you’re competing for clients during the same hours most of them are at work or school. Come in earlier. Stay a little later. Be available when other barbers aren’t. That 7AM appointment. That 6:30PM haircut. That client who needs a cut after work. Those are opportunities to get people in your chair, and if you give them a great experience, they can become regulars. You won’t have to work those hours forever. But in the beginning, use your availability as leverage. Build the clientele first. Earn the demand. Then earn the right to tighten your schedule. Don’t leave clients and money on the table just because you want the schedule of a barber who’s already booked. 💈
