Hi. I'm Gazi. A few months ago, I left my remote dream job at Pinterest to start over at Google in New York as a software engineer. Was it the right move? Maybe. But also no. Let me explain. At first, you feel like the main character. You get your overpriced lease, your romantic sized grocery shopping, but soon enough the plot shifts. We're just a tired little CEO of your own survival. Replacing toilet paper and paying $15 for oatmeal. New York sells the fantasy of mariculture. So I did everything the city demands. I coded, edited, studied almost every night. And here's the plot twist. Pain, real pain is data. It shows you where your boundaries are. When everything good you get stuck when things hurt, you pay attention. Because comfort makes time blurry and fickle slows it down. That's why childhood felt infinite. Now entire months is all into your. So yeah, waking up here alone unrooted being your own emergency contact. Kind of sucks. But I've lived more in these last few months than I ever did in the last few years. So was it the right move? From a convenience or financial standpoint, God know. But in terms of living, yeah. The weird privilege? It gets to make sense of it out loud. And if that lands with you, maybe it isn't just noise.
