Things I learned in law school that I'm now applying to my everyday life that have literally shifted my mindset. Number one, if you can't change it by complaining, you're going to stop complaining and you're going to find ways to actually change it. It applies to a general list of things. There are people who complain about a line being too long, about having to do too much work, blah blah blah blah blah. But at the end of the day, that complaining is not going to change anything. So you're either going to change your mindset or you're going to find ways to actually change the thing, to change the root cause of it so that you don't need to suffer anymore. Number two, you can't grow unless you put yourself in uncomfortable situations. My professor has emphasized this so much and she's like, of course, as a 1L, which basically means just like you're in your first year of law school and as a first semester student, there are going to be so many things that you have never dealt with in life and certain courses, certain categories, certain lessons that you just never encountered and it's going to feel uncomfortable because it's hard. But she was like, you can't grow unless you put yourself in those uncomfortable situations because that allows your brain to think in so many different ways and then put yourself outside of that comfort box and that's how you grow. Number three, everyone is going to have a different perspective on things. They're going to have a different reasoning as to why something is right or wrong, but at the end of the day, no one is right, no one is wrong. It's just all a matter of fact and how you look at it and it's all about perspective. And that's why we have so many, that's why law exists, that's why lawyers exist, because depending on what side you're arguing for, there's so many different ways to look at it. So it's not about who's being right and who's being wrong, it's about how you can use the facts, how you can use your reasoning and your oral analysis or like oral argumentation to really persuade the other side of seeing your side. But the best kind of lawyer is being able to look at the other person's side as well as the opposing side.
