The two biggest reasons I rage quit writing in Google Docs and decided to build us a novel writing app
1
Google Docs was plotting my downfall. I wrote 60K words into a novel project and I was struggling to see the wood for the trees.
I wanted to zoom out and zoom back in to my story. I wanted to *not* have three spreadsheets and a separate worldbuilding doc.
Turns out that software designed for generic use in corporate cubicles isn't great for story telling (even if it's the "industry standard")
I just wanted an app that was designed for stories, that worked for my brain, where my work would be safe, and that was pretty.
