sewing plans
Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
So these are the clothes that I'm absolutely sewing in 2026 and I want to show you how I'm going to do it, what fabrics I'm using and show you what my inspiration was. So for the first one, I really want a striped matching two-piece set, but I want the stripes to be more on a neutral side. So I really like these examples from DG Studio. I just like the prints of their folded wool pant. So this is the fabric that I'm working with. I thrifted this a few months ago and this is exactly the color palette that I'm going for. So for the pants, I'm making the Nikki pants by Iggy Patterns because I need them so bad and I need them in this fabric. I will be making the version with the belt and grommet detail. And then for the top, I was envisioning something fitted, maybe wrap style, maybe something with ties, maybe a high neck. So I found this pattern by Jana Rose and I just think the two together are going to look so good. And what I really like about this pattern is that it shows a little skin, you know, because I don't want the whole look to be business professional, so I like that it'll be a balance of business on the bottom, party at the top. And I just realized that in her pattern photos, she's also wearing a matching two-piece set. So I wonder if that got into my subconscious. And I really want more polka dot clothes and I thrifted these fabrics last year and it's time that I use them. And I was thinking with either one of these, I make a pant, something low rise and kind of flowy. And then for the top, I really want something kind of drapey. So I found this pattern by Jene Rose and it's actually a free pattern, which is exciting. But I was thinking if I make that top and the pant in one of these polka dot prints, I'll have a set. But also two really good separate pieces because I could definitely see myself in that top in one of these polka dot print wearing it with jeans. And I need keyhole tops. I don't know why I'm super fixated on keyhole tops this year. But I want a variety of them. So I want some to stretch fabric, I want some stripe ones, I want some satin silky ones. I saw this photo on Pinterest and I wonder if I could thrift flip a cardigan into that. I would just have to figure out how to finish the edges of the keyhole part. So these are some of the things that I really want to make this year that I didn't get to last year, either because I didn't have enough time or my sewing skills just weren't there yet. So let me know some of your Pinterest favorites that you will be making. And I need keyhole tops. I don't know why I'm super fixated on keyhole tops this year. But I want a variety of them.
