Do you wear headphones to no music? This might sound crazy, but you'd be surprised at how many people you walk past that aren't listening to anything and they're just wearing the headphones for the aesthetic. I will say though, certain headphones and earbuds do make your outfits look better. But at the time, people with AirPods in aren't listening to anything. Another reason could be that people just don't want to be bothered, which is also valid. But I never have my headphones in unless to I'm listening to something. So maybe I'm the weird one.
