If you remember of years ago, Apple didn't just wanna switch from the lightning port over to USB C charging, but instead they were forced by the European Union because that's the standard that all new phones are using. Plus those companies are forced to do the exact same thing. If you're curious, the EU is forcing this to reduce electronic waste and simplify consumer lives. Please don't believe see online.
