The Royal Shakespeare Company’s stage adaptation of My Neighbor Totoro features a breathtaking, house-sized Totoro puppet that stands over 10 feet tall. Designed by Basil Twist, the massive creature is brought to life by a team of puppeteers working both inside and outside the structure to control its movements and expressions. Covered in carefully crafted strands to create a soft, fluffy appearance, the puppet dominates the stage, especially during the iconic bus stop scene, where it makes the actors playing the young girls appear tiny in comparison. 📽️Video by: Gabe Jung 🤳Click our linkinbio to sign up to our daily newsletter. 📰Follow us for the latest Asian News @NextShark #news #reel #totoro #myneighbortotoro #theater #puppetry #royalshakespearecompany #stagedesign #behindthescenes #art #performance #stageproduction #creative #design #animation #studioghibli #london #entertainment #viral #visuals #craftsmanship #artists #theatre #iconic #filmadaptation #fantasy #giantpuppet #production #storytelling
