Hook

Guys, I literally had the weirdest experience at a hair salon yesterday. I feel like I just, I need to vent. It was so bizarre. I, I've been to a lot of hair salons because I, I like to get a blow dry every single week. It's my me time. I work hard. It's my little thing and I just, I enjoy it. It's just something that I like to do. And I just moved to a new area, so I've been looking at hair salons around my area to go to. This is the first one that I tried. I booked for a blow dry yesterday. Um, when I got there, the girl came out the front like to the reception desk and she looked so hungover. It was a Saturday morning by the way. She looked so hungover and she didn't say a word to me. She didn't say, "Hi, how are you?" Nothing. I had to say something. I was like, "Hi, how are you?" And she was like, "Good." Like I could barely hear her. She was so quiet. And then she mumbled something and I was like, "Pardon?" And she's like, "What can I do for you?" I was like, "Oh, okay." I'm just here for my, uh, 10:00 a.m. appointment. Keeping in mind, it was bang on 10:00 a.m. and I'm the only person that walked in, so surely you know I'm there for the 10:00 a.m. appointment. That was like the smallest part of what happened. So, I get sat down and they make me wait for 10 minutes. Not a big deal, but they didn't ask me to have like a water or a coffee or a tea. And every single salon that I've ever been to, they always ask for that. Like it's just salon etiquette. But still not a big deal. These things were like so minor and I didn't really care that much. Then the girl came up to me that was going to be doing my hair and there was no, "How are you?" Like nothing, no small talk at all. Keeping in mind, I'm a brand new customer. You know nothing about me and she did not ask a single question about me. The only question that she asked was, "Are you doing something today? Like are you getting a blow dry for something today?" And I said, "Oh no, I just like getting them on like once a week. That's just my thing." And she said to the whole salon, keeping in mind, it was a busy salon, there was a lot of people in there. She yelled to the whole salon, "Oh, wouldn't that be nice to just be bored on a Saturday and go get your hair done?" I'm an introverted girl. I do not like the attention being on me. But everyone in the salon, like eyes on me, after I said that. And then the other girls are like, "Oh yeah, that must be nice." It felt so passive aggressive. I was like, "What the fuck?" What is like, did what? That's weird. Anyways, then she says, "So what are we doing today?" And I said, "Oh, just like straight, like I'm not too fussy. I just like it blow dried straight and then maybe like a bit of volume at the front. Oh, I should have like gotten a photo for you." "Yeah, you should have." That's what she said. So I'm thinking like, do I leave? But I've already paid a deposit. So I'm just like, "Whatever. It's okay. Like just get through it. Maybe it'll be fine." But it was just the the passive aggressiveness. Like I was so nice. I am a friendly person. I came in friendly. I was so polite. Um, there like I just I don't know why she was so passive aggressive towards me. Anyways, she takes me over to the basin and she starts washing my hair. Again, no questions, does not talk to me at all. But she's talking to the girl next to her at the basin, like the other hair salon, hair artist. Um, and they were talking and talking and talking but nothing to their customers. Like that hairdresser wasn't talking to her customer, this hairdresser wasn't talking to me, but they were talking to each other about how they're going to be so dead at the end of the day, they're going to be so tired, let's go get shit faced. They literally for a solid 15 minutes while I was at the basin, they were talking Sorry, my phone dropped. But 15 minutes while I was sat at the basin, all they were talking about was getting shit faced after work. And then I, oh, this is why I'm not going to say the name of the salon because this is like personal. Um, but the girl, the hairdresser next to us, she started talking about like this one night stand that she'd had the night before and just like the shit she was saying, dude, and I'm just sat there like, "What the fuck?" It was so fucking uncomfortable. And just like the there was no warmth, there was no kindness, there was no conversation and it was so uncomfortable. So I am back to looking for a new hair salon, um, for my weekly blow dries. Actually, they did a good job. Like it does look nice, but the experience just sucked.
