What you saw in this video is the product of engineering. Heavy engineering allows us to create incredibly powerful machines capable of extracting and transporting natural resources. It allows us to build astonishingly large and technologically complex projects such as particle colliders and gravitational wave detectors. And of course, it provides us with energy through technologies like nuclear power plants. The phones, tablets, and computers you are holding right now are also the work of engineers. Every microchip, every casing, every screen was designed and created by people. We owe an immeasurable debt to engineers. They built the world we live in today. It would not be an exaggeration to say that without them, we might still be sitting in caves, keeping a fire alive - if we had even managed to discover it - and staring at paintings on a wall made by a local artist. And let’s not forget that since around the 1990s, bioengineers have been creating medicines and technologies that help us fight diseases once thought to be divine curses or certain death sentences. I have endless admiration for engineers and their creations. MRI scanners, computer processors, factories, architectural wonders, thousands upon thousands of materials - they created all of this. They created the world we call human civilization. A simple “thank you” will never be enough. But if any of my viewers are still standing at a crossroads, wondering who they want to become, become an engineer. A bioengineer, a chemical engineer, an architect, it doesn’t matter. You are the people who will move our civilization forward. You are the people whom I, along with millions of others around the world, will thank for your work for generations to come. #Engineering #Engineer #Technology #edit #Innovation
