I just got bailed out😭. My ex-husband asked to take our six-month-old son for an hour. Because our baby is so young and exclusively breastfed, I asked him to keep his location on and send me updates and pictures while they were together. I had a bad feeling about it, but I ignored my instincts. As soon as he drove away, our baby was already crying. My ex sped off and immediately turned off his location. I became worried and drove to his mother’s house because I had a strong feeling she was involved. When I arrived, I saw my baby’s diaper bag and car seat still inside my ex-husband’s car, but his mother’s car was gone. I called her, and they began arguing with me over the phone, telling me that I would never see my son again. I called the police, but I was told that under Texas law, because my ex-husband is our child’s parent, they could not treat it as parental kidnapping or force him to immediately return our son. This was especially frightening because our baby was only six months old and exclusively breastfed. After the police left, I heard my baby crying from the vehicle. I went to the car and tried to open it. That’s when my ex-husband and his mother attacked me. My ex-husband came up behind me, grabbed me by the neck, and choked me until I lost consciousness. When the police returned, I was arrested because they said his mother had visible injuries. I spent two days in jail while my six-month-old baby remained with them for those two days.
