Ranking interior design styles because somebody has to say what we're all thinking. Farmhouse had its moment. That moment was 2016, shiplap peaked, and we are still collectively recovering. Industrial followed close behind, exposed pipes and Edison bulbs are not a personality, and we've had that conversation enough times now. All-white everything is a cry for help dressed as an aesthetic, and Scandinavian minimalism is just that but colder. You own one plant, three feelings, and you call it intentional living. We see you. Transitional is the Switzerland of interior design. Offends no one. Excites no one. We respect the diplomacy but we don't bring it up at parties. And then there's Coastal Grandmother — the unexpected icon none of us saw coming, and yet here we all are, surrounded by linen and driftwood, completely unbothered.
