Most pros need only three lenses that actually covers real job. And that is 24 to 70. This is your workhorse. Wide shots, groups, details, walk around. It's the get it done. And then 70 to 200. That is your clean portraits, compression, candid moments, ceremonies. And it saves you when you can't get close to the subject. Then the third one I think everyone needs is a prime lens. Everyone needs one either a 50 for low light and all or an 85 for the cleanest. That's it. Everything else is specialty.
