🏰 The Smithsonian Castle is OPEN right now — but only until September 7th 🏰 This iconic red building on the National Mall has been closed for renovations since 2023, and they paused construction specifically for America's 250th anniversary. After September 7th? It closes again until 2027. This is literally your only window. Here's what's inside right now ⬇️ 📍 **The Great Hall** — inside the Smithsonian's oldest building (built 1855), mid-renovation and all. It's a rare, once-in-a-generation look. 🇺🇸 **American Aspirations Exhibition** — Thomas Jefferson's actual writing desk, Harriet Tubman's personal hymnal, Amelia Earhart's flight suit, and 30+ iconic artifacts together in one room for the first time ever. On view through July 26th only. 🦞 **Summer Shack Café** — lobster rolls, Chesapeake shrimp rolls, New England clam chowder and whoopie pies inside a 171-year-old castle. Only in DC. 🌿 **Enid A. Haupt Garden** — the 4-acre rooftop garden right outside is in full summer bloom and completely free. Open daily 8:30am–5:30pm, free admission, National Mall. Metro: Smithsonian station. Save this before it closes 🔖 #gotodc #ThingsToDoInDC #WashingtonDC #NationalMall #America250
