Time to get up and clean as if my mother-in-law is about to show up! Cleaning motivation. Do you like your MIL? I love my mother-in-law, she's amazing. But yes, I will clean my house like a total psycho before she shows up. And that's honestly probably because I grew up in a dirty house. I didn't start inviting my friends over to my house until I was old enough to clean it myself. Because there was no way that I was letting any of my friends know what my house looked like. But once me and my older sister were teenagers, we realized that if we want our house to be clean for our friends to come over, then we're going to have to be the ones to get it done. I know for sure that growing up in a dirty house really impacted me. That's why when I come on here and I see people who have absolutely disgusting houses, it pisses me off. There's a difference between messy and lived-in houses versus dirty and filthy houses.
