Heavy rain from the outer bands of Tropical Storm Mekkhala has triggered flash flooding in Taipei and southern Taiwan. Kaohsiung and Pingtung were particularly badly affected on Thursday (25 June). In the north, heavy rain has caused severe flooding in Taipei's Neihu district, turning streets into rivers and trapping vehicles in deep water.
