HHN 101: What You Need To know Before you walk into HR Bloodengutz this year at Halloween Horror Nights, here's all the lore you need to know in under one minute. Meet HR Bloodengutz, one of HHN's most beloved original characters. His real name is actually Larry Kurtzberg and he was a failed actor who became a late night horror TV show host in a small town in Ohio. He hosted the midnight horror show and basically he just introduced viewers to cheesy horror shows each week. As the years went on, Larry became absolutely obsessed with his character and started to think of it less as his character and more as his persona. When his show was cancelled, he snapped. He kidnapped the producer and the crew and forced them to participate in a live broadcast. This game was a live final broadcast and it was taking each holiday and twisting it into some kind of twisted horror game. Think Easter bunnies, deadly Christmas special, killer Valentine's Day. His original house was in HHN 2011, it was HR Bloodengutz Presents Holidays of Horror. House concept: Larry escapes from the Carey State Penitentiary on Halloween & broadcasts a final Halloween special. It was a marathon & very gruesome. It quickly became a fan favorite and is still considered one of the best original creations of HHN. After all these years, Bloodengutz is officially returning to HHN and that's why original fans are losing their minds over this house. As we get closer to HHN and you hear people talking about Bloodengutz and they're super excited, now you know why.
