It is a geological feature that is said to be volcanic in nature and just so happens to match more striking similarities to what Plato had described as the lost ancient city of Atlantis, which was said to be made up of concentric circles, three of water, two of land, which matches the Richat structure. It also was said to have an opening to the sea at the south and if you look at it from satellite imagery, you can clearly see that had furthermore have north so mountains.
