'why are you on an anti-inflammatory diet?' - it's a question i get asked a lot so i thought i would explain a bit :) i battled acne for 12 years, and last year it got the worst it had ever been. it's hard to explain the impact acne can have on your mental health unless you've been through it yourself, but it got to the point where i didn't want to leave the house anymore as i felt too self-conscious. so | started looking deeper into what was actually triggering my skin, rather than just trying to cover it up or rely on medication. that's when i found the anti-inflammatory diet and lifestyle, and thought l'd give it a go. i already ate relatively healthily, but there were certain things quietly triggering my acne (mainly sugar and high-glycaemic foods). so managing my blood sugar has been a huge part of my healing journey (and it makes sense, as acne is an inflammatory skin condition). i was so inspired by this root-cause approach and the healing power of food that i decided to study naturopathic nutrition. i started sharing anti-inflammatory content on here in January, and I'm so incredibly grateful for all the support. it honestly feels like we're building a little community of people who eat and live this way 🤍 just a reminder: this isn't only for acne - an anti-inflammatory diet & lifestyle can support so much more than your skin - your energy, digestion, hormones and mood too. so whatever brought you here, welcome 🫶 lots of love, Annabelle 💛 #antiinflammatory #antiinflammatorydiet #acnejourney #acnefighter
