How To Play: Broken Window Serenade By Whiskey Myers Made For Beginners! Learn it in 2 Minutes! 2 Basics Chords! I'm gonna teach you Broken Window Serenade. Let's get right into it. First, let's go over the two chords, then we'll go over the strumming pattern, and then I'll show you how to spice it up a little bit so that it sounds more like the recording. First chord is a version of a C chord. Those top two fingers, we're gonna use our pointer and middle. Then we're gonna cover the bottom two strings on the third fret with our ring and pinky. Second chord is just gonna be an E minor. So we just cover the second and third string from the top. And we just go back and forth between those two chords. Quick Note A lot of you guys ask me where do you get chords from? Where do you get strumming patterns? How do you learn songs quickly? Recently I've been using this app called Strum - Play Guitar. They have pretty much any song you could think of in their library already. It'll give you the chords, strumming pattern, timing with the lyrics, and if for whatever reason they don't have the song that you're looking for, you can connect their app directly to your Spotify or YouTube and it'll generate the chords and everything for you. So if you're looking for an easy and quick way to get chords, check it out. Strumming For the strumming pattern, we're gonna go down, down, up, down, up, four times. After the fourth time, then we just go down, up, down, up and then move to the next chord. Strumming: D-D-U-D-U 4x D-U-D-U Note: Skip the last U-D-U on the 4th time Strumming: D-D-U-D-U 4x D-U-D-U Chord Shape: Spice it Up! Now let's learn how to make it sound a little bit more like the original. On this C chord, we're just gonna be lifting and dropping that pointer finger. That first down strum, you're really just gonna want to pluck that second string from the top. And then we're gonna go down, down, up, and then hammer on that first down strum. Repeat the Above 2x D-D-U-U - Hammer Index on First Down Strum D-D-U-U And we'll do that twice. Then we move to that E minor. And here it's gonna be almost the same thing, except we're gonna start the pattern by plucking the top string and now we're gonna lift and drop our middle finger. And we're also only gonna lift it and drop it one time for each rotation. And we just repeat that full pattern two times. And then here's how you play Broken Window Serenade.
