Yesterday was Country Road Buffet’s grand reopening, and honestly, it was one of those days that reminds you why local restaurants matter. I pulled up around 10AM, a full hour before the doors opened, and the line was already long. And it just kept growing. People were waiting, talking, smiling, and ready to finally walk back into a restaurant so many Columbus families have loved for years. Once the doors opened, it did not stop. The dining room filled up fast. Plates were moving. Tables were turning. Families were eating together again. And that whole Country Road Buffet team showed up. The servers were moving nonstop. The kitchen was working hard. The team keeping the buffet stocked were rockstars. And through all of it, you could tell they were excited, maybe a little nervous at first, but proud. Proud to be back. Proud to show people what they had been working on. The restaurant looks completely different now. More space, more seating, updated buffet areas, new artwork, a beautiful mural, and a private dining space for bigger groups and families. But yesterday was about more than a remodel. It was about a small local restaurant seeing just how much this community missed them. So to the owners, management, cooks, servers, buffet team, and everyone behind the scenes, congratulations. And to every customer who stood in line, waited patiently, brought your family, shared the post, told a friend, or simply came back to support them, thank you. Country Road Buffet is officially open again. So if this has been part of your Sunday-after-church routine, your family lunch spot, or one of those places you’ve been asking about for months, now’s the time to go back.
