14,000 workers left Tesla today. There was a layoff, 10% of the workforce gone. The thing that stood out to me is that Tesla is projecting optimism here, but the numbers are suggesting pessimism. The layoff decision is a pessimistic choice here. But so is the year-on-year declines in auto sales. So is the fact that Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers have overtaken Tesla in terms of total volume produced, like 3 million to 1.8 maybe. And Tesla isn't a car company anymore. Tesla's AI team just got rocked and the fallout is going to get ugly July 9/26. The thing I take away from that is the things that make you optimistic about a company can turn pessimistic so quickly if you run into a growth wall. If you top out the market. And Tesla has now topped out their market. They have year-over-year declines. They are not a lot of people whom they can grow to and say, 'I'm going to sell this and this is a new customer for Tesla,' because a lot of the people that they could sell to have already purchased that vehicle and are enjoying it. And the people who are farther down market, they're not going to be able to afford it.
