Our $16 pitcher plants in hanging baskets are back and we have three different species for you to choose from. This one is my favorite, the Saint Gaia pitcher plant. This one is a classic, it has those beautiful red speckled pitchers and they grow to be quite big and they will continue getting bigger as they mature. And then we have a Ventricosa. This one is a little bit smaller pitcher and I believe they will continue to grow bigger as it matures, but this pitcher is a little bit more green. And then we have a hybrid. This one is the Ventricosa times Ampullaria, I believe that's how you say it. And these pitchers have a little bit more red color to them. All of these pitcher plants are amazing if you are dealing with any types of pests or bugs. If you have flies or mosquitoes or gnats, it's a good idea to bring a pitcher plant into your patio or inside your house. Now, the best way to care for these is to give them a lot of bright light, shaded midday. So if they are inside on a patio or in a house, make sure they are either shaded or in some type of house coverage. The midday Florida sun is brutal, so make sure they are either shaded or in some type of shade coverage. The one thing about carnivorous plants, not only pitcher plants but our Venus fly traps as well, is that they are very sensitive to the minerals in water. So you want to make sure that you are giving them a filtered RO or mineral-free water. Rain water is also good. You want to keep the soil a little saturated. It's a swampy plant, so they don't get fully dry. So keep the soil slightly damp and people will also put water in the pitchers as well and I think that also helps them to stay hydrated as well as catch some bugs for you.
