my Charlotte hot take... maybe a Charlotte hot take is I've never seen anyone complain about it. But I am so sick of the soliciting on the rail trail. In Charlotte, I go on there to walk and decompress and get away from the crazy day that I've had and get some steps in. I'm not kidding you, every single day. I am walking on the rail trail, there is somebody soliciting. Asking you to donate for something, asking for money for an organization, trying to inform you about the organization, someone putting a mic in your face, asking absurd questions. The other day was someone trying to hand me mango. I just want to walk and if I have my headphones in, please do not annoy me. And I am not talking about the organizations that stay there peacefully and wait for people to inquire with them. That's not soliciting. Soliciting is the ones that line to you and are asking you and interrupting you about stuff. There is no, nothing wrong with those that stand there and represent an organization and wait for people to come up to them. That's not soliciting. Soliciting is the ones that line to you and are asking you and interrupting you. I think if you know, if you walk the rail trail, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm also not talking about the homeless community or anybody asking for money because they need it. That's not what I'm talking about at all. I happily donate to people and buy things for homeless individuals or those in need. That's not even a problem on the rail trail.
