✨POV: For a very long time, you had been deeply in love with Sunghoon. He was not just anyone to you; he was one of your closest and truest friends in the world. Just being around him, hearing his voice, or seeing his smile was always enough to make your entire day brighter and happier. The two of you did absolutely everything together. You laughed at the same silly jokes, spent long hours studying together for difficult exams, and shared almost every moment of your free time with each other. Because you were always together, everyone around you naturally assumed that it was only a matter of time before the two of you became an official couple. However, there was one major problem that kept things from moving forward. Neither you nor Sunghoon had ever gathered enough courage to confess your true feelings. You both kept your love hidden deep inside, afraid to ruin the beautiful friendship you already shared. One warm afternoon, you were sitting around a table with a group of your friends. As usual, they started teasing you about your relationship with Sunghoon. One of your friends leaned in with a mischievous smile on her face. “When are you finally going to confess to Sunghoon?” she asked. The moment you heard his name, your face turned completely red from embarrassment. Your heart began to race, and you quickly shook your head to deny it because you felt so put on the spot. “I do not like Sunghoon,” you said quickly. Your friends stopped laughing and looked at you with wide, surprised eyes. They had not expected you to deny it so firmly. “Then who do you like?” another friend asked curiously. Panic washed over you, and without thinking about the consequences, you blurted out the first thing that came to your mind. “I have a crush on someone else,” you said. The very second those words left your mouth, a deep feeling of regret hit you. Your friends instantly became incredibly excited, leaning closer to the table and flooding you with loud questions. “Who is he?” one of them yelled. “Tell us right now!” another demanded. You could only laugh awkwardly, waving your hands in the air as your face burned. ”It is a secret,” you said, trying to end the conversation. You truly believed that the silly lie would stay between that small group of friends, but you were completely wrong. By the very next morning, the rumor had spread like wildfire all across the school campus. People in the hallways were whispering that you were secretly in love with someone, but no one could figure out who the mystery boy was. Sadly, it did not take long for the rumor to reach Sunghoon ears as well. At first, Sunghoon refused to believe what people were saying. He knew you better than anyone, or at least he thought he did. ”She likes someone else?” he asked himself quietly, feeling a sudden chill in his chest. But as the day went on and several different people told him the exact same story, he realized that it was probably true. For some strange reason, his heart felt incredibly heavy and tight. A painful knot formed in his stomach, and he could not stop wondering who the lucky person could possibly be. From that exact day on, Sunghoon unknowingly began to stay much closer to you than ever before. It was as if he was drawn to you by a magnet. Every single time you stood up to walk somewhere, he would suddenly appear out of nowhere and walk right beside you. ”Where are you going?” he asked one morning. ”To the library,” you replied, looking at him in surprise. “I will come too,” he said immediately. A little later, when you stood up from your seat to go buy a cold drink from the vending machine, he followed right behind your heels. “I am thirsty,” he said, offering a small, innocent smile.
