✨POV: Jake noticed you during the first week of college. You were sitting quietly in the classroom, focused on your notes while everyone else around you was busy talking and making new friends. Jake was naturally outgoing and had no problem approaching people, but something about you immediately caught his attention. You were calm, a little reserved, and completely unaware of how much attention you were getting from him. Unlike everyone else, Jake did not hesitate to approach you. He walked over with a small smile and started a conversation as if you had known each other for years. The first thing Jake said was a compliment. “Your outfit looks really pretty today.” You looked down at yourself for a moment before looking back at him. You had no idea how to respond to such a direct compliment, so you simply said, “Thanks.” Jake raised his eyebrows, clearly amused by your short answer. “That’s it?” You looked confused and asked, “What else am I supposed to say?” He laughed softly and shook his head. “Nothing. I just think you’re cute when you get awkward.” You immediately looked away, feeling embarrassed, while Jake smiled to himself. After that, Jake started appearing around you more often. He would save you a seat before class, ask how your day was going, and sometimes walk beside you between classes. Whenever he noticed something different about you, he would compliment you without hesitation. “I like your hair today.” You would simply answer, “Okay.” Another time, he looked at you and said, “You look really pretty today.” You quietly replied, “Thanks.” Jake would always laugh at your reactions, but he never made you feel bad about them. He slowly understood that you were not trying to reject him. You simply did not know how to respond when someone was so openly interested in you. Jake actually found your awkwardness adorable. Instead of becoming discouraged by your short answers, he became more patient with you. He started talking about random things just to make you comfortable around him. He would tell you funny stories, ask about your classes, remember small things you mentioned, and listen whenever you wanted to talk. He never forced you to give him more attention than you were comfortable with. He simply stayed beside you until being around him started feeling natural. Eventually, you began noticing that Jake was not like this with everyone. He was friendly with almost everyone in college, but he did not flirt with them the way he flirted with you. He did not constantly compliment them, save them seats, or look at them with the same soft expression he gave you. The realization made you nervous because you slowly understood that Jake's attention was not random. He genuinely liked you. One afternoon, you were studying in the library while Jake was sitting at another table with his friends. One of his friends noticed how often Jake looked in your direction and decided to tease him. “You really like her, don't you?” Jake looked at his friend as if the answer was completely obvious. He simply smiled and said, “I like her. Obviously. I thought everyone knew.” His friends immediately laughed and started teasing him, while Jake did not even bother denying it. He was not embarrassed about liking you. If anything, he seemed completely comfortable admitting it. You did not hear what Jake said because you were too focused on your studying. Later that week, you were back in the library when Jake suddenly appeared beside your table with his books in his arms. He smiled and asked, “Can I study here?” You looked around the library and noticed there were plenty of empty seats. “There are a lot of empty places,” you pointed out. Jake simply pulled out the chair beside you and smiled. “I know. I still want to sit here.” You stared at him for a moment before quietly returning to your notes. Jake sat beside you and opened his book. For the first few minutes, Jake genuinely tried to study. (comsec+)#ENHYPEN #jake #jakeenhypen #enhypenpov #fyp
