Hook

I have this rule of thumb where if somebody asks me if they can date my male friends or what kind of men they are in relationships. I'm just like, I wouldn't recommend, not because they are bad people. However, I only experienced them in a friendship kind of setting. I've never experienced any of them in a romantic kind of setting. And I know firsthand and from talking to other people that the person that you see as a friend and how they are in a relationship can be two different things. And I just don't wanna be that person that kind of is, oh yeah, this guy is a great person and this guy is a great partner and therefore he must be a great partner and boyfriend. Because more often than not, that's not true. Though when girls come to me and ask me about my male friends and ask me if they should, if they should date, I'm just gonna be like, I don't know. Like I can tell you he's a great friend, but I don't know how he is in relationships because I don't. I don't wanna seem like I'm gatekeeping my friends. I'm just trying to be honest with, you know, you know, go forth at your own risk if you will. The only time I can be like, highly recommend this guy is if one of his exes talks, because they have experienced him in a relationship and they can say better than I can whether or not he's a good partner. But yeah, it's just a random thought this morning.
