🍪 What’s Cooking Wednesday? 🍪 There’s something so satisfying about turning a simple cookie into something beautiful. Today we’re baking soft, old-fashioned molasses cookies and using our handmade cookie presses to create the sweetest designs. Here’s our little trick: dip the cookie press in flour, give it a gentle tap to remove the excess, roll your dough into balls, coat each one in granulated sugar, then press. The beautiful pattern holds its shape, and the sparkling sugar gives each cookie a little extra magic. ✨ Modern Prairie Molasses Cookies Ingredients: * ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened * 1 cup granulated sugar (plus extra for rolling) * 1 large egg * ¼ cup molasses * 2¼ cups all-purpose flour * 2 tsp baking soda * 1 tsp ground cinnamon * 1 tsp ground ginger * ¼ tsp ground cloves * ¼ tsp salt Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper. 2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and molasses. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. 4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined. 5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and coat each one in granulated sugar. 6. Dip your cookie press into flour, tap off the excess, and press each dough ball to create a decorative pattern. 7. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers are still soft. 8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. These are the kind of cookies that disappear almost as quickly as they’re made. ❤️ Which cookie design is your favorite? #WhatsCookingWednesday #ModernPrairie #MolassesCookies #CookiePress #HomeBaking
