This is everything I made for my friend who just had a baby. Food is definitely my love language and I think it's one of the best things you can bring a postpartum mom. So I got myself in the kitchen early yesterday and started on my slow cooker salsa verde chuck roast. This recipe is also freezer friendly, so it'd be great to prep as a postpartum meal for yourself or even just dinner for your family one night. Next I made my roasted potato, clam chowder with chorizo. Soup might not sound the most appealing in the middle of the summer, but warm meals are definitely healing. I ate a lot of soup when I was postpartum and I think it helped play a role in my quick recovery. The chowder gets topped with chorizo, but I still did it on the side here because I feel like it could be a really great thing to eat postpartum. I also stashed some of the chowder in the freezer. They make a super simple snack and they're freezer friendly. Then I got right back to cooking. These are some super simple energy balls. They're made of dates, peanut butter, oats, and seeds. Everything gets mixed in the food processor, then shaped into balls and stored in the fridge. They make a super simple snack and they're freezer friendly. I was making myself some sourdough yesterday, so I went ahead and made her a loaf too. Then I cut it as well, so she didn't have to worry about slicing it herself. I also packed them everything they'd need for taco night with the chuck roast and dropped it all off just in time for dinner.
