In my recent long form video I talk about the psychology of why we wear black. One of my favorite things to do is delve into topics of why we like certain things and how it affects our signature style and how it can have a more personal element so that your style feels personal again. Now there are many reasons why one would wear black, simply because you just like it. But I thought that it was interesting that there are a lot of studies that show when it comes to liking the color black and those who don't like wearing black, at the end of the day it is a game of association. It dates back to your first association with black. I go more into it on my long form video. But I also found out some other interesting things when it came to wearing black. So before someone complains that you wear too much black, maybe you can share with them some of these fun facts. I know a lot of people claim they don't like wearing black in the summer because it is too hot, it absorbs the heat. But many skin cancer clinics have shown studies that wearing darker colors is actually more protective of UV rays than lighter colors. But you should still wear sunscreen and take precautions. When it comes to spirituality, because black represents all colors, it is often times associated with things being harmonious and bringing everything together. Black also represents water and metal nourishes water. So often times having black items in your home and pairing that with metal can have a very positive element in your home. And also, black represents the north sector of your home, which represents your career and life path. And also, it is said that painting your door black can anchor your home. So before someone says you wear too much black, let them know that there are so many benefits to black and it is not always a depressing color. They wear all white or other colors.
