We stayed at Hotel Sylvia in Newport and honestly, we did not want to leave. We knew we wanted a cozy coastal getaway and this place was exactly what we were looking for. The hotel has so much charm from the cozy reading nooks to the coffee bar and all the little literary details that make you want to grab a book and forget your phone exists for a while. The hotel has complimentary tea, water, and latte's for us which quickly became one of my favorite parts of the stay. And our room was so cozy, it felt like the kind of place you actually want to come back to after spending the day exploring. The location couldn't have been better either. You're just steps away from Nye Beach, plus there are cute boutiques, great restaurants, all within walking distance. I also loved how close the hotel is to several amazing hikes. Most are only about 30 to 45 minutes away, making it easy to get out and explore. One thing I wasn't fully prepared for though is the Oregon coast is cold. We definitely underestimated it, so do yourself a favor and pack layers. Hotel Sylvia has over a hundred years of history but it still feels fresh, welcoming, and full of character. If you're looking for a place to slow down, recharge, and spend a few days by the ocean, I definitely add this one to your list.
