DIY Hair Wraps

here's how you can make your own easy reusable hair wraps to wear this summer using embroidery thread you wanna start by picking your color palette scheme from your embroidery thread colors as you can see i've literally got every color under the sun i don't even know how i've collected these over the years but you wanna pick between three and six different colors and then cut each of them three times the length of your hair so to do this i just took one of the threads and measured my hair with it and then folded it over twice to get three times the length before cutting it off and then i just used that as my measurement guide for the rest of them i just held the rest of the strings up against it and cut them all to the same length and then hold all the threads together and fold them in half to find the midpoint and then tie a little knot to make a loop and then before you start you'll want to attach that loop to something to hold it securely in place i use this little clumpy thing that i just attach to the side of my desk but you can use a clipboard or just a piece of tape or just hook it onto something and now on to the fun onto the actual wrapping technique the most simple one being just taking one or two of your threads and just wrapping them around one of the ones in the center you can use two of the same color thread to just fill in a big section or you can use two different colors if you want to get the stripy look if you made friendship bracelets a lot when you were a kid then you're probably used to the figure 8 knotting technique that i'm doing here and if you actually just repeat that a bunch of times then it'll naturally form the spiral pattern around the middle i also just like to use these knots at the end of each color section just so to hold it in place but you don't actually need to and i'm doing here with the black and white section i'm literally just grabbing one of the threads and wrapping it a few times and then just grabbing another thread and getting straight into wrapping with that one instead of doing a knot but it's just personal preference i just personally like doing knots in between just so that i don't have to worry about letting go and it all unraveling although it does end up looking a little bit more seamless if you can get away without doing if you wanna make a little two-tone with one of the colors as a base and the other one as a little design over the top you wanna take the color that you want to go over the top to the side with you and using the other colour that you want as the base to just wrap and then once you've got that color section another as big as you want you can do whatever you want with those top threads you can either criss cross them or just wrap them around playing with all the different kind of textures and color combinations you can do you can do keep switching between colors and techniques until you get it as long as your hair and then you can either tie it off or you can throw on a little bead at the bottom i added a little bead to the end of this one and then tied a knot underneath it to hold it in place and then just trimmed off all the excess thread i also made this other green and pink one to match my outfit which i added a little star charm to the end of and that is basically it and then you can just attach them however you like i see people attach them into like braids and stuff i just attach a bobby pin and just clip it in but each to their own whatever works for you and that is how you can make easy reusable diy hair wraps let me know what you think in the comments and i will see you guys in the next one
