Some restaurants serve great food… but the ones that leave a lasting impression are the ones with a story behind them. ❤️🐟 Our first time at Pismo Fish & Chips completely lived up to the hype. From the very first bite, we understood why this place has been a Pismo Beach favorite for generations. The fish & chips were hands down some of the BEST we’ve ever had—perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, flaky, fresh, and full of flavor on the inside. We also tried the steak & shrimp, salmon dinner, their famous house-made clam chowder topped with crab, buffalo wings, a fresh salad, a kids cheeseburger, plus a mimosa and margarita… and not a single thing disappointed. Every plate was fresh, generous, and made with care. What makes this restaurant even more special is the history behind it. Pismo Fish & Chips has been family-owned since 1963, serving locals and visitors for more than six decades. It all started with a small fish market, and thanks to one unforgettable act of honesty by the Zechner family, they were given the opportunity to open the restaurant that has become a true Pismo Beach landmark. That legacy of hard work, integrity, and family tradition is still reflected in every meal they serve today. You can feel the history the moment you walk through the doors, and you can taste the passion in every bite. It’s rare to find a place that’s been loved by generations while still delivering the same quality and welcoming hospitality.
