Day 5 of stealing startup ideas and building them on Reddit. And today's victim is here. The idea came from a problem my friends and I kept having every single movie night. We'd spend 30-40 minutes scrolling Netflix, Disney+, Max, etc., only to end up watching the same movie we've already seen... or giving up completely. So I decided to build an app to make deciding what to watch a little less painful. The concept is simple: Create a room, invite your friends or partner, everyone swipes movies together in real time, and when everyone likes the same movie, it's a match. It's kind of Tinder style swiping for movies to figure out which movies to watch. I think it's a good idea because I spend hours trying to find something actually, you know, hours actually watching something. So let's get it a go. I've asked Claude to give me a prompt for Replit to build a mobile app based around this idea. Demo purposes only for now so no API key needed and no login required, use mock data for the movies and shows. I'm using replit.com, paste in my prompt and let's go together. I'm just gonna sit back, relax while it cooks. It's ready. Create room. Start swiping. Okay. Oh, look. It's actually... it's away. Yep. Pulp Fiction. Knives Out. Match! You and your friends all want to watch Pulp Fiction. Watch on Max. The match. I actually really like the idea of this app. So if someone could publish it, that'd be awesome. Anyways, let's day 5 done. Follow along for my next victim.
