Today I bathed all of the dogs and every time I see them outside together just enjoying life I can’t help but get emotional. I love fostering medical cases even though they might come with some of the biggest heartbreaks. I think everyone in rescue has a few dogs they will never forget. The ones who didn’t make it long enough to see the better days. Those are the dogs that stay with you forever. When I look at Nola and Jasper I can’t help but think about how close they came to never knowing what it feels like to run through the grass sleep on a couch or simply be loved. It’s nothing short of a miracle that some of these dogs survive long enough to get one last chance. They were treated like they didn’t matter and now they’re happy safe and loved. Breeders have enough advocates. Let’s be the voice for the dogs the world keeps throwing away.
