Bill Anoatubby added nearly 14,750 employees to the Chickasaw Nation during his nearly 40-year tenure. When he first took office as governor of Chickasaw Nation in 1987, the tribe had about 250 employees. By the time he announced his retirement in June 2026, that number had grown to nearly 15,000 employees. The tribe operates over 100 businesses in fields like energy, healthcare and hospitality that fund over 400 tribal programs. The Chickasaw Nation has an economic impact over $8 billion. His son, Lt. Gov. Chris Anoatubby , has taken over and will be Chickasaw Nation's Governor to at least 2027. Thank you Governor Bill Anoatubby and enjoy your well deserved retirement 🙏 #ChickasawNation #Oklahoma #History #leader #economy
